maximise your talents - play to your strengths

We often go through our careers trying to develop skills and improve ourselves, which is naturally a key concept in Future Proofing Yourself. Sometimes we may get feedback on something we have done, and it knocked us back a bit, and often it's about something that isn’t a natural strength to us. Or we were trying our best, but don't have the natural ability? Ever thought you were in the wrong job? We can find that we spend too much time worrying about our weaknesses, so we should play to our strengths. As Albert Einstein once wrote ‘Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.’ Even in a very unpredictable world and job markets:

- play to your strengths, - you will enjoy it, - be good at it and, - therefore, successful at it! Don’t be a fish trying to get up a tree Take care, David
