My Boss Is A Micromanager – What To Do!

What can you do when your boss is a micromanager?

Have you ever felt as if you are on safari with your manager watching your every move?

Micromanaging doesn't necessarily come from conscious choice; it can result from inadequate leadership skills. The positive side is that a well facilitated conversation might be enough to make your boss aware of their behaviour. However, in other instances, proactive management steps from your end might be required to improve the situation.

Having a micromanaging boss can be suffocating and have a real impact on your productivity and mental health. In this video I share strategies to:

  • Recognise different micromanagement types

  • Address the issue through communication

  • Take proactive management steps

  • Identify signs of a toxic micromanager

  • Consider leaving if the situation doesn't improve

  • Prioritise self-care and seek support if needed.

Naturally, if you would like some help please get in touch.

Enjoy, David.
